Taking the Next Step

Taking the next step can sometimes be scary. I believe there are levels of letting go with your children. When they are toddlers and learn to walk, there is a level of letting go, to let them grow. When they start school there is another level of letting go. Get their license, go off to college, etc. And then there is my current next step, letting go as they move far away (9 hours to be exact!). I’ve experienced the empty nest, but still had my boys close (40 minutes away). In a few weeks my first born will be moving to Fayetteville with the love of his life. We are crazy about her and love seeing our son so happy. But, this momma’s heart is having a hard time with this next step. We are thrilled for the opportunities that await, the new start, the new commitments….all great stuff! I’m just going to miss him terribly. I’m learning to trust God more. Have you had to take any next steps lately that are a little scary?

On a fashion note: This beautiful polka dot dress is so comfortable and great to have with the current heat situation! I’m wearing a petite small and find it runs true to size.

  1. Hi, I know how you feel. Our daughter recently moved to Nashville and we are not able to see her as much. It’s been an adjustment but we have made plans to go see her. Hope you can visit your son in the near future.
    Hugs, Anne

    1. Thanks Anne! I am planning on going 4 weeks after they move. (Give them a minute to get settled). I think that having that trip planned is what’s making it bare able.
