Pops of Trend 2023

A good rule of thumb I follow is to have 80% of my wardrobe consist of basics and 20% consist of trends. I find that investing in good quality basic pieces serves as a foundation to then add a pop of trend without being too overboard. Last week we talked about what are the wardrobe essentials, if you missed it, click here to read. So let’s talk trends you will see in 2023.

Bold stripes is one trend we will be seeing. I love this take on the trend, it’s colorful and fun! This sweater runs true to size, I am wearing a Petite XS and it fits well.

Crochet is also going to be very popular this year. We will be seeing it in sweaters, purses, trim detailing, etc. I love the crochet detailing on the neck of this French Terry top, and down the pants. This style is not offered in petites, I am wearing a 00 in both pieces, but find the length and fit to be fine for my 5’0 frame.

Ruffles will be big this year too! Here is an example of how to incorporate a trend with a classic style. This striped top runs true to size, I am wearing a Petite Small and it fits good.

Laser Cut Outs are very on trend in 2023. We will see them in clothing, accessories, shoes and more. Here is a fun example on the left of both crochet and laser cut out in one purse. On the right we have a leather laser cut out style. Both are pretty and an easy way to incorporate a pop of trend.

Neon is still going strong in trends for 2023. This one is a bit hard for me to work into my wardrobe, but I’ll try to find a way. The bright pink is a maybe for me, but I don’t know if I can pull off the neon green.

And lastly as a reminder…just because something is on trend, we don’t HAVE to wear it. That’s the fun thing about fashion, we get to pick and choose what flattered our body type and preference. These are just a few of the trends we will be seeing. Hope you enjoyed this type of style info. I had so much fun researching for this topic!
