Many women want to know the very basics of skincare. Where to invest… where not… So let’s talk about it!
For your morning routine there are four products I would consider “basic.”
I would use the following in the this order. The first is a good cleanser. It is not necessary to invest in an expensive cleanser. It is on your face for such a short amount of time. It’s important to choose a cleanser that does not strip your skin, A couple of my favorites are this one from CeraVe or this one from Elta MD or this one from Neutrogena.
The second product is a good Vitamin C Serum. Vitamin C is packed with so many great things… helps brighten, improves dryness, improves uneven skin tone. Just so much goodness! My favorites are MaeLove The Glowmaker or Timeless or Drunk Elephant.
The third must have product is a good moisturizer. There are so many good ones Some of my favorites are Revision, and Eminence! Olay has one that is rich and hydrating. CeraVe is also very good!
The last must have is a great sunscreen. Any moisturizer that has sunscreen in it is NOT enough sunscreen, so make sure you use a separate sunscreen as the last step in your routine. I have tried many, and I can tell you that hands down my favorite is Elta MD. It’s creamy, it covers, it is not cakey. I don’t want to recommend any others, because none compares to Elta.
I personally use more products than this, targeting problem areas. But, if you are just starting to get serious about your skincare routine, this is a great place to start. Let me know if you have any questions!
