Everyone needs a good fitting black dress. I have a new favorite this year from Spanx! The simplicity of the silhouette allows you to dress it up for holidays or as is for the office, and of course, funeral or wedding appropriate.
I like choosing one statement piece to wear with a simple silhouette, for instance I am wearing bold statement earrings and no necklace. You could however wear a bold statement necklace and keep the earrings small and simple. Or a classic style with pearls would be pretty too.
Shoes are another great way to change the look of a simple dress. Because I am petite, I like to wear a nude color shoe so my legs will look longer. Adding a sparkly shoe would dress it up or a bold color would be fun too. Here are a few options I would choose:
I find this dress runs true to size. I am wearing an XS (and I did have it hemmed). Some of the reviews I read said that it runs a little big, but I do not agree with that. The Ponte knit holds me in without feeling constricted. It also comes in a beautiful red that would be perfect for the upcoming holidays!
