Hi Friends!,
Let’s talk about a little self care today. I wanted to update you on my 1st microneedling appointment, what my experience was like and how I felt about it. My experience was at The Dermatology Clinic in Baton Rouge with Andy. I felt very comfortable with her and because we are close in age, I knew she could relate to my concerns about aging. I appreciated her input and loved that she let me ask tons of questions!
If you are not familiar with it let me explain. Microneedling is a procedure done with a pen type instrument with 12 needles at the end. They glide the pen over your skin to create a minor wound, telling the skin to heal (which produces collagen, quicker cell turn over and firmer elasticity). The procedure did not hurt because they applied numbing cream when I first arrived. Here is a picture on day one when I got home. Day one feels like a bad sunburn. My skin felt tight but not uncomfortable.
By day two, the redness had gone down a lot! I went to work on day two and only applied eye makeup. They told me I could wear foundation, but I wanted to give it another day especially since I wear a mask at work.
Day three, I did wear makeup. My skin tone was no longer red, but I was experiencing some peeling (which is normal).
For the best results, they recommend a series of three procedures, scheduling them 4 weeks apart. So I have my second one scheduled in September.
My thoughts after one: The surface and texture of my skin feels so smooth. My makeup is going on smoother and my face feels more plump. I’m also seeing my pores look smaller. I am very pleased with my results and look forward to the results after my next two!
The reason I wanted to go ahead and tell you about it now is because The Dermatology Clinic is offering a special this month on microneedling. When you buy a series of three, you get $150 off. So if you are local, and thinking about trying it, now would be the time. (Their contact info is 225-906-5228 or www.thedermatologyclinic.com) If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I am happy to answer anything I can.
Thanks for spending part of your day here with me! I appreciate you and look forward to chatting soon!
Blessings~Michelle
