Little things can make a big difference! So today let’s talk about five easy things you can do that can make you look younger.

  1. Healthy Hair – Have your hair trimmed (and colored if you do that) often. Don’t let your hair lose its shape or style by neglecting to have it trimmed. Also, as we age, our hair gets dry and needs different products than what we used when we were younger. Use a good shampoo, conditioner & a good hair mask once a week.
  2. Exfoliate your skin – Exfoliating your skin removes dead skin cells that sit on top of our skin. It also causes new skin cells to rise to the surface, which in turn creates a healthier, younger look. Try using a scrub in the shower for your body. To exfoliate your face, I suggest you dermaplane or “shave” your face. (Your hair won’t grow back fuller or darker) I use an at home dermaplaning tool, but the face shavers work good as well.
  3. Get enough sleep – This may sound like a no brainer, but it really is important. For years, I did not sleep well because of my husbands snoring. I stayed tired (and looked tired) all the time. What has helped me is keeping a noise maker by my bed. I use the “rain” sound and turn it up full blast! It drowns out the snoring and I get a good nights sleep.
  4. Whiten your teeth – It is very inexpensive to keep your teeth white. Coffee, tea, wine, and age yellows our teeth. Start with a good whitening toothpaste, and use a whitening pen as needed. Since it’s such a simple thing to fix, I would suggest trying it!
  5. Accessorize – When possible add a 3rd piece… (in addition to your pants and blouse) like a scarf, statement necklace, cardigan, blazer, hat. Adding a 3rd piece will elevate your look so that you will look more stylish and put together.
